Medical-Dental Outreach Mission Trip.
Total cost quoted for two weeks is outlined below (assuming we are a group of ten or more). This include air, hotel, ground transportation, 2 daily meals.
A $100 non-refundable deposit is required by Northwest Airlines Now with 2 or 3 payments until your balance is paid in full at least (45 days before departure) due by October 23,2008.
You must contact us first to confirm your participation and to proceed for us to make your reservation. See Volunteer Application Form at the bottom.
Please be sure you have or will have the funds available before you commit to this trip. Once you cancel for any reason, the airline will apply cancellation penalty fees to your refund.

You must make your air travel reservation directly with us. I recommend you make your home origination flight with NWA if possible. We will also make all the arrangements for our in-country mission expenses in Ghana.

Our Donation account is set up with Pay Pal. You will receive a Donation Receipt for each payment that you can use as a charity write-off towards your taxes. If you don't have a Pay Pal you will need to create one in order to make your payments.
Once you make your $100 deposit, we will contact you with further instructions, keep you updated on any news or changes and answer any questions you might have.
Here's the breakdown of approximate costs of the In-Country expenses per person: La Palm Hotel - 4 nights - $400. Gateway Hotel - 9 nights - $300. All Meals - $300. All Ground Transport. and Ghana Tours - $500.
1. GHANA ENTRY REQUIREMENT: Valid Passport and Visa are required to enter Ghana . For complimentary visa service. *** Go to www.ghana-embassy.org Click on the Visa & Consular Affairs Tab then on the left navigation bar click on Visa. It is important to read all the information posted there then at the bottom of the page you will see the Application download link. Print it and follow instructions on the form. Single entry Visa costs $50, Multiple entry $80.
NOTE: When you send in your application for a Visa, you must also send your US passport to the Embassy. We recommend you send it Priority or better yet, in a Express Mail envelope to avoid having your passport running around in snail mail. Since you must also include a self addressed return envelope, it's best if you also include a Priority or an EM envelope, for your peace of mind.
2. You will need Yellow Fever vaccination and Malaria prophylaxis. Contact your physician or your local Health Department for a prescription.
3. Medical professionals must provide Copy of Current Credentials.
4. In Ghana wear warm weather comfortable clothes and sandals recommended. A short lab coat or scrubs needed for medical duties. Bring a light sweater and a light warm blanket to use in Nkwanta for evenings, insect repellent and personal toiletries.
We will spend the first night of our arrival and the last three nights in Accra at the 5 star La-Palm Royal Beach Hotel. During the mission in Nkwanta we will stay at the beautiful Gateway Hotel.
5. Our two week Trip Itinerary will be as follows:
Day 1: Depart the US on NWA in the evening and connect in Amsterdam.
Day 2: Depart Amsterdam on KLM, arrive in Accra Ghana in the evening. Clear customs and overnight stay at the 5 Star La-Palm Royal Beach Hotel.
Day 3: Early delicious breakfast buffet, check out then on a six hour ground commute to Nkwanta. It is a picturesque ride. Check into the Gateway Hotel, a nice quaint cozy hotel, clean, good food, very friendly staff. Breakfast and Diner daily at the Gateway Hotel. After checking in, we go to the medical facility at which the team would be working at. We will be warmly welcome by Dr. Koku, Nkwanta District Hospital Director, and the World Vision Nkwanta program director and staff. Hospital orientation by the Nursing Matron and preliminary set up to start medical mission the next morning.
Day 4 - Day 11: 7 days of Medical Mission.
Day 12: Depart Nkwanta on a fun ride back to Accra with a few stops at local crafts and bead shops and try our bargaining skills. Arrive at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel and check in for 3 nights.
Day 13 - 14: Cultural Tours and Shopping.
Day 15: Attend Sunday morning church service at the Winner's Chapel. Check out, Dinner and depart Accra in the evening to Amsterdam.
Day 16: Arrive early in Amsterdam and take tour shuttle for a city day trip. Return to the Airport in time to depart for the US late afternoon. Arrive in US. Clear customs and connect to your domestic flight.
